The Art of Deception (Part 3)
As I write part three of this series, I am fresh from a two-week vacation from Europe. We visited Rome, Sicily, Turkey, and Greece. Fifteen family members and one family friend cruised the Aegean Sea. The weather was perfect, the deep blue water was intoxicating, the food was scrumptious, and the rest was long overdue. I had many experiences and made new observations in my travels; some I hope to write about in future blogs.
From my short excursion, I gained deeper insights into the struggle for our minds and souls. First in this new perspective, is that our struggle is not simply worldwide, and encompasses every human being, but it is universal with ramifications for all God’s creation, all! Christ’s life and death impacted all of creation for now and for eternity. That is not an exaggeration it is a plain statement of fact. The Bible states:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17 KJV
Christ’s life, death, and resurrection redeemed our world and confirmed to the universe God’s character of love. Christ’s sacrifice exposed Satan’s true agenda – to steal, kill, and destroy whatever and whenever he can. The devil’s desire is to obscure his agenda every way he can, but he’ too late, his scheme is clear for all to see! Let us recap Satan’s three-pronged plan laid out in the 1700’s.
He had three primary objectives:
1. To convince people he and his angels did not exist.
2. To control human minds through hypnosis and mysticism.
3. To destroy the Bible -- without burning it.
His plan to control human minds through hypnosis and mysticism is the focus of this segment. Hypnosis and mysticism are different sides of the same coin. Hypnotism is how the devil gains access to our minds, mysticism is the lies he implants in our minds once he has access. Hypnotism is how he gets us to touch the forbidden fruit; mysticism is how he gets us to eat it.
As we have said before Satan’s methods are not new, he employed this same process in the Garden of Eden at the beginning of his interaction with humanity. Eve was hypnotized and her mind was led away by Satan’s suggestions. His mystical lie of immortality directly contradicted what God told Eve. She bit the sweet fruit and its aftertaste still lingers in our mouths today.
In our time, with nearly six thousand years of practice, he has perfected his craft. In Eden a talking serpent did the devil’s bidding; technology is the hypnotic serpent in our day. I dedicate nearly two full chapters in my latest book on the hypnotic-mystical process and how Satan implemented it in modern society; I will not rewrite that here. Instead, using snippets I will present an overview of my thesis.
The following is taken from page 365 of My Story, His Glory Book 2 and describes hypnosis as we have been trained to view it.
“Specter of the Gun,” the Star Trek episode we will discuss later, uses hypnosis in the way we are accustomed to seeing it, as a prank. Hypnosis is not hocus-pocus or hard to understand, as the enemy wants you to believe, nor is it difficult to induce. It is a basic psychological process. Hypnosis is “a state of consciousness involving focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness characterized by an enhanced capacity for response to suggestion.”174
That’s straight from the American Psychological Association. Focused attention, reduced peripheral awareness, and an enhanced capacity to respond to a suggestion are the only three things necessary for a person to be hypnotized. Dr. Freda Morris, who has written several books on hypnosis, explains that it can be done quickly and easily. “The main method is to keep the subject quiet, still, cut down all diversions and outside focuses’…and then to ‘create a new focus, keep their attention and at a certain point get them to follow your mind.’”
That classic Star Trek episode planted in our collective psyche the belief that hypnosis was quackery; that was part of Satan’s plan to camouflage its powerful effects. Real science tells us differently. Hypnosis is hard science with concrete effects upon human behavior. Hypnosis is virtually ubiquitous in daily human interaction – from a mother singing a lullaby to her newborn to a priest’s last rites. Governments and advertisers use it to sell everything from deodorant to wars in the Middle-East.
Most people have no idea how pervasive the hypnotic-suggestive-mysticism mechanism is in their daily lives. It is the “matrix” in which we exist. In The Matrix movie, Neo was given two pills, one red the other blue, and he thought he was given an option; he was not. Both pills were poison. Satan relies on that delusion and ignorance to maintain his kingdom. Tomes have been written on these processes so it is far too much to cover here, but I will share another quote that sums up our lives in the devil’s matrix. The word propaganda sums up the process we have been discussing.
It is a matter of reaching and encircling the whole man and all men. Propaganda tries to surround man by all possible routes, in the realm of feelings as well as ideas, by playing on his will or on his needs, through his conscious and his unconscious assailing him in both his private and his public life—It furnishes him with a complete system for explaining the world and provides immediate incentives to action.
We are here in the presence of an organized myth that tries to take hold of the entire person through the myth it creates, propaganda imposes a complete range of intuitive knowledge, susceptible of only one interpretation unique and one-sided, and precluding any divergence. This myth becomes so powerful that it invades every area of consciousness, leaving no faculty or motivation intact, it stimulates in the individual a feeling of exclusiveness and produces a biased attitude. The myth has such motive force that, once accepted, it controls the whole of the individual, who becomes immune to any other influence. This explains the totalitarian attitude that the individual adopts—wherever a myth has been successfully created—and that simply reflects the totalitarian action of propaganda on him. Yes, it is just as Ellul described it – every area of our conscious and subconscious has been compromised. The manufactured feelings of exclusiveness and extreme bias create an immunity to reason and ends in the inability to act in one’s own best interest. If that sounds like present day America it is.
The totalitarian attitude prevailing in America and the world is the result of Satan’s initiative set in motion over three-hundred years ago! People’s attitudes are hardened like cement no matter where they land on the political spectrum. It is not just politics, even more recalcitrant are attitudes about ethnic differences, but Christ warned us about this.
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Matthew 24:7-8 KJV
Christ was not being redundant when he said nations and kingdoms. Nations means ethnic groups while kingdoms refer to countries. So, within countries like the United States of America, ethnic groups will war against one another. I would advance that this situation is happening now and will inevitably get worse. ICE raids with the scenes of terrified women and children are proof of men’s hearts waxing cold. Zombie like most Americans of color watch in shock, while most White Americans clutch their pearl necklaces and look the other way.
Using hypnosis and mysticism Satan has brought humanity to the point of no return. Noah’s world, Sodom and Gomorrah, Jeremiah’s Judah, and the Apostle’s Jerusalem are all examples of God’s unheeded warnings with its subsequent consequences.
In each of those cases God pleaded while men scoffed, ridiculed, and ignored his grace. Such arrogant blasphemy is rampant now. So, what can we do? Where does that leave me and you? It leaves us with a decision to make, a choice. It is the same choice that every person in every generation before ours has had to make. Will we believe the lies and turn our backs to the light of truth or will we open our eyes and see for the first time? Christ explained our choice to a man He had recently cured of blindness and to Pharisees that questioned Him. He said.
Then Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment [to separate those who believe in Me from those who reject Me--to declare judgment on those who choose to be separated from God], so that the sightless would see, and those who see would become blind.” Some Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and said to Him, “Are we also blind?” Jesus said to them, “If you were blind [to spiritual things], you would have no sin [and would not be blamed for your unbelief]; but since you claim to have [spiritual] sight, [you have no excuse so] your sin and guilt remain. John 9:39-41 AMP
All we must do to break Satan’s hypnotic spell is believe and choose to obey the word of God. The devil promises us the world but all he can give us is certain pain and death. Christ used God’s word to defeat Satan in the wilderness. It is the only standard of truth. It is the shield and defense against the devil’s hypnosis and mysticism. Turn off the deception box on your wall or in your hand; the choice is yours.
